Community Midwife

The community midwife helps the doctor to look after all aspects of pregnancy care. Please ask at reception for our pregnancy care Information leaflets.

Free Chlamydia Test

If you are between the ages of 15- 25 you can have a free chlamydia test.

  • This is done on a urine sample.
  • The results are confidential and can be sent to your mobile phone.
  • Ask the doctors, advanced nurse practitioners or nurses for the test.

Contraception

If you have been advised by the surgery to submit a contraceptive pill review please use this form.

Family planning advice and treatment is available by appointment with a doctor or the practice nurse.

Diabetic Clinic

Our practice nurse runs a diabetic clinic with the doctor and hospital diabetic nurse. Diabetic clinics are held every other Thursday 09.00 – 12.00 at the surgery.

The Diet Clinic

The community dietician runs the diet clinic and is base at  St Helier Hospital.

District Nursing Services

Our district nurse can be contacted via the surgery. Our district nurses are community based and are available to see you in your home. They can help with dressings and removal of sutures, advice and care of the acutely and chronically sick and terminally ill and advice on incontinence and supplying pads and other aids.

Health Visitor Service

Our health visitors provides advice for very young and expecting and nursing mother. They run a new baby clinic with the doctor every second week of the month on Wednesday 13:00 – 15:00.

HIV Test

The practice also offer HIV test to all new patient. Other patients are free to book an appointment with our practice nurse if needed for this test.

NHS Health Check

NHS health checks are being offered to healthy adult aged between 40 and 74 once every five years unless already diagnosed with conditions such as heart disease, hypertension or diabetes.

The check is to assess your risk of developing heart disease, stroke, kidney disease or diabetes. By taking early action, you can improve your health and prevent the onset of these conditions. There is good evidence for this.

The check is done by our experienced nurse and it should take about 20 minutes and is based on straightforward questions and measurements such as height, weight and blood pressure. It will also involve referral for a general blood test including cholesterol.

Following the check, you will receive free personalised advice about what you can do to stay healthy.

Travel Vaccinations

If you are travelling abroad please make sure you contact us in plenty of time to arrange any vaccinations that may be necessary. To help the travel nurses assess your travel needs it is important that they are in receipt of the assessment form before your appointment.

Most travel vaccinations provided to patients are under NHS expense which is free of charge. Our practice nurse is fully qualified and experienced. We offer readily available appointments for travel vaccinations every week.
